nothing to do today so sat in the garden trying to amuse myself. found an old pair of small binoculars which led to only one thing take them to bits gag the objectives into a holder and fit them to the front of the sp500uz and see what happens, the last three pictures i submitted were taken using this set up.
the objectives are far too small about 22mm x8 mag allegedly results are not brilliant but might lead me to play around with something larger and see where that goes. overall it gave me something to do on a lazy sunday afternoon (queue for a song) until i can justify (read afford) a dedicated macro lens (thanks to dalantech for all the advice which i will act upon as soon as i can)
there seems to be quite a following for diy macro on deviant at the moment something else to look into on another afternoon

Hi Jeffery I use either an Olympus sp500 uz or a canon eos 350d the olympus is compact enough to carry around all the time and the canon if im intentionally out to shoot which hasn't been to often lately (that work thing) thanks for the kind words they are much appreciated I too shall be waiting to see your new work

I have added a few of your photos to my faves, hope you don't mind. Your Macro shots are absolutely excellent my new friend. If you don't mind me asking, what do you shoot with? I use my Sony Alpha A100 and love it. But am thinking of also picking up some new Canons and Nikons here soon! Best to you and I will be back by again soon to look at more of your wonderful work.
